The Women Project
A theater project devised over nine months with a group women of different backgrounds and ages. At the beginning of the project, we discussed and practiced the fundamental aspects of theater and acting: conflict, subtext, dramatic action, physical work, improvisation, and much more.
Concurrently, each of the women was asked to bring in a personal story, memory, fantasy or fear that she wished to explore.
We took these "stories" and adapted them into short scenes, creating a theatrical collage that deals with issues like family, children, sexual liberation, career vs. motherhood, aging, and much more.
